Why won't my outlook accept my yahoo pword even though it seems to have connected to yahoo?

I have re-checked if have my pword right countless times but that still doesn't work. I have the 03 version of outlook & my yahoo7 mail is the free version also. I'm computer illiterate & I found how to download yahoo email to outlook out of these answers & have configured the incoming/outgoing server as pop.mail.yahoo.com & smtp.mail.yahoo.com is that the right way? Please help so that I can finally read my mail offline & do the other things I need/want to spend my time doing rather than going though all my e-mails. Thanks to all who help me.\
