It used to be required to do in level 6, but it is not anymore. Most gyms train them in level 5 or 6. But you never HAVE to have it so some gyms might not bother in working them unless they plan for you to do it on beam in level 9/10. Just wondering... Why do you want to stop before learning an Ariel? If you don't want to do them you never absolutely have to. I am a level 9 and barely have it on floor because I choose to do back tucks on beam! (:
